Building our Commissioner line-up

Published:

As part of plans to set up the Commission, we’re planning to bring in up to four non-executive Commissioners to join our Board.

We are looking for a lead non-executive Commissioner and for up to three additional Commissioners. Each individual will bring their expertise, challenge and insight to help set the Commission’s strategic direction.

We’re seeking people with wide-ranging experience. We are particularly keen for the Board to include at least one Commissioner with experience gained outside the United Kingdom that is relevant to the work of the ICRIR and we strongly welcome applications from candidates who meet this description. For the lead non-executive Commissioner role, we are also looking for someone with significant financial experience.

While not generally involved in individual cases and operational decisions, our non-executive commissioners will bring vital scrutiny and support to the Commission. These roles will require travel to meetings in either Belfast or London, and some meetings will be held remotely. All Commissioners will expected to travel and engage across communities in Northern Ireland and we particularly welcome applications from people with substantial experience of living and working in Northern Ireland.

Russell Reynolds Associates are supporting the process, which is being led by the Chief Commissioner-designate, Sir Declan Morgan. For further information about the position and additional details on qualifications, requirements, terms and conditions of service and how to apply, please visit www.rraresponses.com. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 6 September 2023.
