This accountability update explains the Commission’s activities from 1 Sept 2024 - 31 Mar 2025.

The Commission was given the opportunity to respond to the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee inquiry into the Government’s new approach to addressing the legacy of the past in Northern Ireland. This submission outlines some key aspects of the Commission’s current approach.

This work plan for the financial year 2025-26, the Commission’s second, marks an important chapter in the Commission’s journey, reflecting on the significant progress made so far and setting out our strategic goals and commitments for the year ahead.

This is the Annual Report and Accounts for the Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery (ICRIR) for 2023-24. It covers the period from the commencement of the legal provisions establishing the Commission in 1 December 2023 to 31 March 2024.

There is a broad range of work to finish building the foundations that will ensure that the Commission is operating effectively as an independent organisation rooted in our values of integrity, impartiality, openness, accountability, and respect. The plan also begins to outline how we anticipate the work of the Commission will progress in future years.
