Myth-busting commonly held misconceptions about the ICRIR

The Commission exists in a complex, contested and changing environment. The Bill that was introduced by the UK Government is different to the Act of Parliament that remains following the Belfast High Court’s legal ruling, and may change further in light of any findings by the Court of Appeal. This factsheet has been developed to provide victims, survivors and families with factual information about some common misunderstandings surrounding the Commission. Everyone should be empowered to make their own choices about whether and when to come to the Commission to seek its services.
